THE
SPAM PROBLEM
Spam now accounts for 80% of all E-mails, or near 40
billion messages every day, and costs businesses world-wide billions a year in lost productivity. The number of daily
spam's will rise to an estimated 50 billion emails by next
year, and such
losses are estimated to exceed $200 billion per year in
productivity loses.
Our Solution Can Quickly Work For You
The cutting-edge systems we have in place to protect your
agency's personnel and network from this problem have been at
the forefront of emerging technologies. These spam fighting
systems should reduce your overall spam by an amazing 99.8%. In fact,
companies such as IBM, Novell, ConEdison, Alpine, world
renowned universities, city & state governments & many other
international firms are using this very same platform to
further secure their network while protecting their profit
margins from these increased ongoing threats.

HOW OUR VIRUS BLOCKING WORKS:
Blocking computer viruses and malicious worms is what our
solution does best. The moment a new threat is identified a
central datacenter updates our virus signature files
automatically every hour. The proven track record of
our firewall has shown it is much, much more effective at
handling viruses then Norton, McAfee and all other "per user"
based subscription services because our updates are much more
frequent and because you can't be infected with something you
never received. Remember, our service Blocks the
virus infected message and kills it.
It is not uncommon in an office environment for, let's
say, someone's computer virus subscription to lapse and
therefore leave a gapping security hole which threatens your
entire network and enterprise. This lapse in security will
remain open until such time as the computer in question renews
their virus subscription and downloads the latest updates.
Additionally, it is even more common for someone's
subscription to be current but their configuration settings
are not set to update automatically so they are not receiving
the updates & for all other users whose computers are
configured for maximum protection, their automatically updates
only occur once a day, at best. Any way you look at it,
subscription based virus protection leaves you open to attacks
at any given moment.
With our Virus blocking feature, your network and
users are always protected with the most up to date virus
definitions & signatures, no matter what because our updates
occur every hour - 24/7.
Does this mean you no longer need your subscription based
anti-virus protection (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.)?
No it does not. These software based solutions do things
we simply cannot do for you. For example, your users can still
surf the Internet and pickup a virus infected
program. Your staff can also receive Viruses from free
internet based Email accounts such as Hotmail or Yahoo. Or your network could be hacked by an outsider and
viruses, worms and other destructive trojan horses could begin
their work from within your network. The simple ability to
scan your computer systems for such things is still
paramount and should not be ignored. However, with that said;
Email is most definitely the avenue today's modern viruses &
worms reek havoc for those of us who are "connected".
Therefore, never receiving such Emails through your primary
day-to-day address decreases your
likelihood of being infected at an incredibly high rate. In fact
more than doubling your Anti-Virus measures.

OUR SPAM BLOCKING TECHNIQUES:
By using all the latest methods to block spam, we now
provide a comprehensive spam-blocking solution for your
company. Below are the primary algorithms we employ to block
spam.
GeoLocation Blocking:
All emails originating from within
entire offshore countries are blocked. Russia, China,
Argentina, Malaysia, and dozens of other countries are simply
seen as "bad mail". GeoLocation blocking is just one of
the powerful ways we prevent spam.
Bayesian
Algorithms:
Bayesian
filters are personalized to each user and adapt automatically
to changes in spam trends and definitions. To determine the
likelihood that an email is spam, these filters use Bayesian
analysis to compare the words or phrases & servers used in the email in
question to the frequency of the same words or phrases in the
intended recipient's previous emails (both legitimate and
spam).
Spam
Fingerprint Checking:
Fingerprinting techniques examine the characteristics, or
fingerprint, of emails previously identified as spam and use
this information to identify the same or similar email, each
time one is intercepted. These real time fingerprint checks
are continuously updated by a central data center and provide
a method of identifying spam with nearly zero false positives.
Intent
Analysis:
Intent
Analysis is used to look at the objective or goal of the
email. If the objective of the email is to sell something,
(such as click a URL) , or get the user to take a particular
action that is indicative of spam, the email will be
categorized as spam.
Blacklisting of websites & domains: Through a central
technology datacenter, our firewall maintains an updated list
of the largest and most aggressive known spammers. This list
is maintained by both the central center and other
international anti-spam groups. This list is automatically
updated on our firewall every hour to maximize this area of
Spam filtering.
Keyword scanning of emails: Our scanning methods include a
comprehensive scoring system such that all incoming emails are
scored based on a number of criteria. If the score is below
the threshold, a message is delivered to your Inbox as it
normally would. If the score is above the threshold, then the
email is quarantined as spam & reviewed
before being delivered to you. If the threshold is even
greater, then the message is blocked and absorbed at the
firewall.
Checksum technology: The central datacenter monitors all
email traffic through the Internet and uses checksum
technology to keep track of the number of times a particular
message has appeared on the Internet. If a message has
appeared over a certain number of times, it is categorized as
"known spam". Checksums of known spam messages are utilized to
block spam messages.
Message authenticity checking: Several algorithms are
utilized to verify the authenticity of a message. Some of
these are simple checks to verify that the "from address" is
authentic. Some are more complex relating to SMTP protocol and
Email Fingerprinting.
Blacklists and Whitelists: Domains, IP’s, and email
addresses can be blocked or whitelisted (allowed through).
These are maintained on a corporate basis by our offices.
Rate controls: Utilized to stop denial of service attacks
as well as dictionary based spam attacks. These are integrated
and automatic.
File type attachment blocking: We also block messages
containing specific types of file attachments commonly used by
destructive computer code creators such as .vbl, .scr, .vbs
just to name a few, from entering your company via Email.
